Whose cats are they?

The Rescue House

All cats residing in our cat cafe's cat lounge are adoptable rescues from San Diego non-profit The Rescue House. The Rescue House is an all-volunteer non-profit rescue organization dedicated to giving cats & kittens a second chance at life. Every cat adopted from Cat & Craft allows The Rescue House to save another cat from euthanasia from over-crowded and underfunded animal shelters.

Can we adopt a cat?

Adoptions Are Our Goal

As a cat cafe in North County, we want to make an impact on adoptions and animal rescue. Our goal is to adopt out over 1000 cats to qualified applicants in our two year of operation. If your heart and home have space to for one of our foster cats, just ask your cat lounge host (or any C&C team member) for details on adopting.

I have a name that I'm sure you've never heard before. Peanut Butter Van Gogh is too long, so they call me Peebs. I got the Van Gogh part of my name because of my uniquely shaped ears. That came about because of my time living outside. You'll have to monitor those more carefully than for most cats if you take me home. But I think they give me character. Come see my play and chase things around and see if you want to welcome a unique looking cat with an unusual name into your home.

My siblings and I were found by the property manager who a foster for The Rescue House rents from. They knew exactly what to do when they saw how adventurous we are. As you can tell, I'm a handsome boy who looks good in black, so my name is fitting. It's especially fitting because I was the quiet protector of my siblings. If you're looking to send up the bat signal (a wand toy), I'll come running. Otherwise, I'm happy to keep my active side under wraps. Come and meet me and see if your home can become the Bat Cave.

I was at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego for a long time, but the stigma of black cats somehow kept me from getting adopted despite my playful purrsonality. One of the things that became a concern was my tendency to get paws and mouth on. The Rescue House decided to give me a break in a foster home. Once I stopped doing this, I joined the clowder at Cat & Craft. As you can imagine, I'm used to the comings and goings of a cat cafe, so I won't be shy with people who want to come and interact with me. I like to attack wand toys, and have been known to drag one into a cave so I can "kill" it. When I'm not active, I enjoy stretching out in the window to enjoy the sun. Come meet me and see you're the one who helps me leave a cat cafe again, this time to a permanent home!

Come for the Cats,

Stay for the Coffee

As a craft coffee shop, we provide space for our community to gather, connect and enjoy hand-crafted coffees, drinks and delicious food. Our coffee shop is really more of a kitchen and living room available for the North County community.

Whether it's a plant-based blueberry muffin from Split Bakehouse or thick-cut multigrain from Bread & Cie used in our 'Avogato Toast', we're proud to source and serve local favorites from North County. The 'craft' in Cat & Craft is a catch-all term for our no-shortcut approach to food and drink.
